Just Do It!

Need anymore explanation?

Growth- Money #1

Ask yourself the following questions:
  • What can I give to others so that I may be paid?
  • How much money do I want?
  • Where can I create value?

Do the following:
  • Focus on giving, before getting.
  • Get clear on how much money I need.
  • Get rid of my debt.

Money is just a tool.  Money is to be used as a transfer of utility and as a transfer of value. Nothing more, nothing less. Get clear on money.  How much money I need. Then get it.

Emotions- Key Area #1

Controlling your emotions is vital in creating balance and happiness in your life.  Without it, there is anxiety, frustration and fear.

Note, that there is a clear distinction between feelings and emotions. Feelings are conscious experiences of emotions that we can control. Emotions are unconscious expressions that are deep seated.

Having and creating emotional stability should be one’s priority. To control one's emotions, work needs to be done at the sub-conscious level.

See tools for working on the sub-conscious mind in future posts and a book coming out later.

-

Spirituality- The Key to Happiness #1

Seeking spirituality is the ultimate power of human beings. Seeking spirituality is not only seeking the higher power- God, it's seeking self expression.

By seeking who we are spiritually on a higher level, this allows us to understand ourselves more thoroughly.

This also gives us meaning. This meaning is a sense of understanding and a sense of connectedness to other spiritual beings.  Additionally, most importantly, it gives us a sense of connectedness to our creator- God.

This also provides clarity and understanding that we are more than our bodies, more than our minds and we are ultimately more than our souls. We are an intertwined combination of all three components that make up an astounding entity- a Human Being.

-

Purify- The Body #1

It's time to evaluate and clear out all of the bad things that I have accumulated in my body over the last 42 years. So, one of the ways to do this safely and effectively is to do a natural colon cleanse.

Oh boy, here we go.  This could be fun, I'm sure you are saying to yourself. Well, maybe not.  However, this is a good way to start over, begin anew.  Who knows, this may also save my life.

Purification is necessary with our Mind, Body and Soul. So, this is a step I am taking to purify my body so that I may begin to start over. A clean slate. Al-righty then. Here we go.

Check this out for more info. Dr. Natura Colon Cleanse

-

Relationships- "The Golden Rule"

The key to a solid relationship is communication. There are many forms of communication, however, there are only two forms of communication that matter.

All Beings are either doing one of two things when they are with another Human Being.  They are either calling for Love or they are giving Love.

Think about this. The next time you are angry with another Human Being, ask yourself what you really want.  Do I just want to be Loved?

This is known as the "Golden Rule" of communication.

Discover Your Purpose Now!

We all have one.  This could be the most important thing that you do ever.

How do you define your Purpose? One way to define your Purpose is to ask the question “What's important about (x) (that subject) to me?”

Asking this question will lead to another question, which will lead to another question, which will lead to another question. By asking yourself this series of questions, this will lead to a conclusion.

The conclusion is part of the answer to defining your Purpose. Your Purpose will be defined through this important series of self discovery questions. However, you must go back and review this series of questions as for this series of questions will lead to a series of answers,  that will lead to clarity and understanding of what your Purpose is.

Once your purposes defined, it's critical that you work toward your Purpose. Avoiding this will lead to unhappiness and a passionless life.

This is only a starting point. If you are truly interested in seeking help with this, then contact me now. I'm here to help. Let me know and I will walk you through this process.

Are you willing to discover your Purpose now?

-

Key Questions to Ask Now

What's working right now?
Now you know what to do more of right now.

What's not working right now?
Now you know what to do less of (or none of) right now.

How am I Being right now?
Now you know what your feelings are right now.

Are these feelings serving me or hurting me right now?
Now you know what feeling you need to change right now.

Career- 3 P's #1

In order to have a focused, balanced and happy career, three components must be in place;

Purpose- what I have to do.
Passion- what I want to do.
Proficiency- what I'm good at.

When Purpose, Passion and Proficiency are combined, they form a sweet spot, a true target.  Until then, we will be floating aimlessly throughout life and we will not have true happiness, joy and peace.

The 3 P's and your Career

Knowing your own 3 P's is critical in choosing, obtaining and enrolling in your Career.

Without the clarity that knowing your 3 P's brings, you may be doomed for a future of ambiguity, boredom, frustration and potentially worse.

I will discuss some tools that I have developed to gain clarity in determining your own 3 P's in future posts and a book down the road.

The 3 P's

Have you ever noticed that the most important things in life come in three's?  This is no exception.
Here are my 3 P's:

     Passion
     Proficiency
     Purpose

By knowing these 3 P's in your heart and being completely clear on what they are is one of the keys to happiness. I will discuss the best ways to determine what your 3 P's are in future posts and in a future book.

Personality Types

What is a "Personality Type"?

A personality type is essentially a "coat" or "mask" that we have put on our "persona" to project outward to the world.   This is a "mask" because it is a learned set of behaviors that each of us has adapted to and have essentially become.

Although we are a combination of behaviors, each one of us has a dominant "mask" that we project to the world. If we want to, we have the ability to change this "mask" and to move into a different "personality type".

There are 4 main types of personality:

  • Controller- rigid, rules based, task oriented.
  • Supporter- fun, people pleaser, relationship oriented.
  • Analyst- goal, direct, task oriented.
  • Promoter-  easy going, fun loving, relationship oriented.

These are just "types" and all of us are blends of all types.  Knowing your own type is helpful in identifying your needs and wants. Knowing other peoples personality type helps us to better relate to other people's needs and wants. The benefit of knowing personality types is that it will enhance and improve relationships that we have with others and ourselves.

Things I am Grateful for #1- God

I am Grateful for God. God has given me so many things in my life, I am truly blessed.

He is the Creator of all things and the conduit to all things. I am the person that I am because of God. I have everything that I have ever wanted because of God.  He guides me on my life path and provides all of the things that I need.

For this and more, I am truly Grateful for God.

Less Stuff

We had a garage sale this past weekend. The garage sale was amazingly successful- by garage sale standards.

My goal- get rid of stuff that I don't need or use. I achieved nearly 80% of my goal. Good, however not 100%. So guess what, I'm going to have another garage sale.   And this time, I will have more stuff there that I don't need or use.

I will accomplish 100% of my goal this time because, whatever is left over, will be donated to someone that needs it more than me. My ultimate goal- get down to a reasonable number of personal items and keep the number at that level.

Having less stuff is good for me. More stuff just complicates things for me. I'm looking for simplicity. Anyone doing this too?

Back on HCG

The diet works.  It worked the first time, now I'm doing again to drop even more lb's.The goal: weigh 190 lbs. by April 9, 2011.

Stay tuned to see how many apples I have to eat to make my goal.

Commitment vs. Agreement

A friend of mine taught me the following:

"Have a lot of agreements and have few commitments."

Agreements are things that you have with others that may be negotiated and possibly changed if needed.

Commitments are things that you do, no matter what.  These things should never be broken. Remember, this is your word.

It's best to have commitments in major life areas and agreements in minor life areas. Give yourself some room to negotiate with agreements and honor your commitments.

Setting Goals

Set S.M.A.R.T. goals every 90 days.

S- Specific
M- Measurable
A- Attainable
R- Realistic
T- Timely

Setting goals takes discipline.  Discipline creates action.  Action creates results. Results are proof of commitment.

What are you committed to now?

Notice your thoughts

Our thoughts determine our actions.

Thinking about good things, creates good actions. Thinking about bad things, creates bad actions.

Also, make sure to think presently.    Do not focus on thoughts of the past. Do not focus on thoughts of the future. Focus on present thoughts.  Be Present.

What are you thinking about?

Goal Stumbling?

Goal setting is simple. Completing the goal can be challenging.
For me, I used to make things harder than they needed to be.
That means, I waited until the end, then I'd rush in and complete the goal at the very last minute.

An easier way to complete the goal, would  be to set short term milestones or benchmarks. Go after the benchmark, hit the benchmark and then go on to the next benchmark.

Pretty soon, your goal is in the bag.

Balance in your Life

What's one of the most important goals in my life?  Balance.

With balance, I have the following:

  1. Joy
  2. Compassion
  3. Understanding
  4. Confidence
  5. Power
  6. Control
  7. Liberty
  8. Authenticity
  9. Peace
  10. Love
Without balance, I have the opposite in all areas of my life. What is the best way to achieve balance?
First, start with determining- "Point A".   The starting point.
Next, purify or detoxify all of the bad things that you need to get rid of.
Third, replace the new space with better stuff- growth.
Finally, maintain what you have just created- balance.

George Carlin on LIFE

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

  A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often..

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, ' I love you ' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people.....Who cares?

Meaning

Nothing you see means anything. [1]

You say, what does this mean?  Everything means something. To me, this means that we create the meaning of everything we see, touch, feel, hear or taste in our own minds. We attach the meaning, to all things that we perceive.

For example, a table could be a place for things to rest on.  A table could be a place that holds special memories. A table could be something that divides a room. A table could be a place to sit. A table could be something to gather around. Or, a table could be, all of the above, or none of the above. Your choice.

Today, take a look around your room.  What do you see?  Do not assign any value to or judge what you see in your room. Just recognize for a brief moment that everything you see does not mean anything. [1]

Anger

Anger is a very interesting emotion. I have been angry for a very long time.  Anger can manifest itself into many forms. So, it is best to first become aware of your anger. Then, embrace your anger. Next, get your anger out. And finally, forgive yourself.

When you feel angry, it is best to go do something. Exercise works great. Take the dog for a run or to the dog park. Make sure to get the angry energy out. And make sure to not hurt others with your anger. Remember, you get back what you put out. It's the universal law of reciprocity.

Finally, you must forgive yourself, before you can forgive others.
Is anger using you, or are you using anger?

The value of connection

Have you ever thought about connection?  To me, connection is one of the most valuable things a person can do with another human being.

This weekend, I was fortunate enough to connect with an amazing group of people. We had connected before, however, this time it was different. We shared with each other. We listened to each other. We felt pain with each other. We laughed with each other. We cried with each other. Most of all, we connected and became a team.

I challenge you to reach out and to connect with someone. It may just change your life.

Music, Sweet Music

There was only one Bob Marley.

This man truly lived in the moment.  He may not have had the best voice or had the most musical talent in the world. However, his songs inspired people from all races, religions and creeds.  He sang from his heart.

When he performed, he touched people. His passionate messages have inspired millions. In fact, he continues to inspire and touch people today, even though he has been gone for nearly 30 years.
For this reason, he was truly a musical genius.

We are all honored to have the opportunity to listen to this man's great work. What can you do to inspire others?

What Lies Within Us

I had the pleasure of hearing the great speaker Byron Embry today.
Byron talked about what makes a speaker great.
The main thing that I got out of his talk was that you can have the best story or content in the world. However, if the message doesn't come from your heart, your audience will never hear it.

This is like life. We can talk and talk and talk. However, if we don't connect with others on a deeper, more emotional level, our message will not be heard.

His comments reminded me of a great quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson;
"What lies behind us
and what lies before us
are tiny matters
compared to
what lies within us."

Everything that we need to know is already within us.  Do you have enough courage to share that knowledge on an emotional level with an important person in your life?

Stop Thinking!

Stop thinking.
Not for ever.  Just for a minute.
Find a quiet place. Stop the noise in your mind.
Relax.
Notice what your body is doing.
Are you sitting?
Are you standing?
Are your feet on the ground?
Now look out. What do you see?
Look at your hands.
Notice the blood pumping through your veins.
Notice your breath.

You are now present. You are alive.  Be in your stillness.
Know that you don't have to always be thinking.
You don't always need to be moving.
It's OK to just- Be.

Do you have the will to live or have you given up?
Are you just going through the motions?
What appendage are you willing to cut off so that you may live?

Free Hugs

Many of you have seen this. Many of you have not. What is the deeper message here?  For me, the message seems clear. As a society, we have become so skeptical of each other, that even accepting something as small as a hug, leaves us asking "What's the catch?"

I had the privilege of doing this exercise recently. The lesson was amazing. Many of the people I came in contact with were very skeptical. In fact, I had several people tell me "No, I'm all good. I don't need any hugs."  Others said "What in the world are you doing?  Is this some kind of experiment?"  Yet others freely came up to me, hugged me and just said "Thank you!". NO questions asked.

What would you do if you saw this?  Join me next time and give a "Free Hug".  You may realize that by giving something as simple as a "Free Hug" something spectacular may happen- you may get "Hugged Back"!
